Overview

You have an idea and are willing to put in plenty of sweat equity but you need capital. Now what? Raising your seed money is one of the first challenges an entrepreneur faces.

In these classes you will learn about: 

  • The best time to fundraise
  • The different types of investment 
  • How to prepare your pitch deck
  • Finding the right investors for you
  • How to contact or get an introduction to an investor
  • Negotiating valuation
  • Term sheets and other lovely legal stuff

What to expect

One-to-One

In this session I can answer any specific questions about the fundraising process, give feedback or ideas for your pitch deck and we can work on scoping out the right kind of investors for your venture.  We can discuss venture-specific valuation and market questions, and any introductions I can make. 

Group

This group class will be a more structured session, mapping out the fundraising process from beginning to end. I’ll use the example of how we went from concept to raising a six-figure investment for my business in just 3 months, with specific tips, hacks, and practical advice that you can apply to your own fundraising. There will be time for questions throughout each session and further sessions can be scheduled to discuss specific areas in detail. 

What you need

Bring anything you want to discuss i.e. pitch deck, exec summary, term sheets, etc.

Latest version of Google Chrome web browser.
A webcam, microphone, and headphones or speakers;
A good Internet connection with at least 350 kbps bandwidth for each participant.

I'm an award-winning filmmaker and entrepreneur. Not long after graduating, I founded the bookable video guide to eating and drinking, One Minute City, which was awarded O2 Smarta Micro Business of the Year, voted top 100 startup in the UK and was named ?The Future of Food? by the Evening Standard.  I grow th company of 3 years and partnered with the largest reservation platform in Europe and later licensed its technology.

Later, I raised a further six-figure investment on crowdfunding platform Seedrs in just the first few hours of the campaign going live.
