In this class you will flow through a gentle and slow paced sequence of Hatha yoga asana (poses) that is focused on mindfulness, breathing and experiencing the you within. I will teach you to allow your body to learn through relaxation and let go of what you need to. This will inspire the yoke of what yoga truly means - a union of body and mind, where you open to the spiritually divine.

What to expect


A private session of gentle, relaxing, and mindful Zen Yoga that focuses on you.....no matter beginner or well seasoned yogi. An inner exploration of your body, mind and hopefully soul too...you are invited to sense, feel and let go from a deep cell level. Come to Zen-out with us.... 

First Session:

Your first session will begin with a conversation on your current health condition, lifestyle and inspiration in taking up yoga to help us understand what you will need from the session. 


A supportive and gentle class that is open to utter beginners as well as the more practised. Allowing energy flow, breathing and mindfulness to be the core of each moment, you will let go of any stress, tension, or worries, and just be in the present.  

What you need

Dress in comfortable clothing, have a yoga mat to practice on, and some water to keep hydrated.

May became a practising Vajrayana Buddhist through the teachings of Living Buddha Lian Sheng as a 16 year old, and picked up yoga with a Sivanada class at 25 to supplement meditation. Venturing into her 30s she was diagnosed with Graves Hyperthyroidism, bent nasal passage and chronic rhinitis caused by several allergies, making her a self-taught expert in stress resilience as well as relaxation. Having been a law graduate, school teacher, human rights master graduate, charity intern and personal assistant in the city...she teaches from her practice through the compassion of gentle yoga, mindful meditation and spiritually Buddhist way of life. In September 2014 May attended Zenways 200 hours Zen Yoga Teacher Training with Zen monk Daizan Roshi; which covered the foundations of teaching Hatha Yoga from a Buddhist philosophy, Yoga Nidra, Spontaneous Yoga, Ki or life force energy via meridians and Zazen meditation. As she took one day leave from the course to complete a half-marathon charity walk, she later completed the rest of her teacher training with Charlotte Esme Turner (via Zenways and taught several of Charlotte's classes whilst being observed). She became fully qualified on 30th July 2015 and is registered for RYT200 with the Yoga Alliance. May founded 'The Cat Pose' in December 2014, inspired whilst practising this simply effective posture to soothe tension, restore normality in the spine and rejuvenate energetically...as well as her great love for cats. She has chosen to focus on teaching limited sessions a week, and writes her blog 'Walking in May'. May is starting an 'Integrative Psychosnthesis Counselling Diploma' with Re-Vision later in November 2016. Since teaching (from early 2015) she has gathered experience in guiding students with Hyperthyroidism, back pain, anxiety, chronic pain, fatigue, M.E. and cancer recovery. She advocates breathing, openess in spirituality, compassion through gentleness and living a mindful life.
