With Ronan Fitzgerald Hi there!
I've been working in marketing and communications for the guts of a decade. That means the need to write well, accurately, and sometimes under pressure.
As my career progressed, it transpired that I had a natural flair for digital, and started specialising in that. This means website content, marketing emails and social media - three very different channels that need very different approaches in terms of writing.
Most recently, I've developed an obsession with analysis of digital channels, and measuring the impact and value of my digital content. This contributed to a 55% growth in my employer's digital audience.
Outside of work, I'm usually writing something or other. I've had multiple blogs on various topics, and I also write songs.
I'm excited to share my knowledge with you, so you can write great, engaging content, whatever digital channel, giving you points of best practice, and dispelling some myths!
With Michiel Paulus Hi, my name is Michiel Paulus.
I do here two different classes. Guitar classes and NLP.
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming, below more about this.
First the guitar part.
I studied classic guitar in The Netherlands. Beside classic guitar I also teach other styles like pop, bossa nova (Brazil), chords and plucking.
My teacher-ship started 37 years ago after I graduated Conservatory in the Netherlands. I composed a lot of pieces for the guitar special meant for students of all levels. To give the beginning student the joy of really playing some piece in a short time, most compositions are in notes as well well as in TABS.
Some pieces are also arranged in chord-blocks or diagrams.
The focus of my guitar lessons is the joy of playing guitar.
While I was studying at the Conservatory I played in a lot of bands.
First I started to teach guitar in my studio at home.
Since a few years I also teach via Skype and Facetime (Apple).
At this moment I already have students in The Netherlands, Sweden, Norwegian and Iraque.
When I was offered to teach here at HowNow I was very glad they provide the connection via their website since Skype sometimes loose quality.
After I graduated at the Conservatory I kept on studying.
In the nineties I learned about NLP, neuro linguistic programming.
NLP is the study of objective experience. In fact all we experience is objective, everything we see, hear, feel and think is colored or filtered by our believes, history, education etc.
NLP learns how these filters work and how we can adjust these filters.
NLP is used in many field like business, sport, education, coaching, training.
The most important issue of NLP is modelling. That's how it started. the main question is what is the difference that makes the difference between a good salesman and an excellent salesman. The first classes will be about communication and how to improve your communication. Why are some salesman much more successful than others? Why are some teachers and trainers much better motivators than others? Even when they have the same school and university.
NLP is about making conscious of patterns, everyone has more or less in his behavior and communication. Making aware and adjustable.
I did all NLP courses starting with
NLP practitioner, Master Practitioner, Post Master Practitioner, NLP Trainers Training, Ericksonian Hypnosis.
With Rich Leigh I run a PR agency, have just finished writing a PR book - published early 2017 - and have created a number of services and sites in a bid to improve and contribute to the wider PR world.
Before launching my (imaginatively-named) agency, Rich Leigh and Company, I led award-winning PR campaigns at 2 well-regarded UK agencies. We have two offices - the main one in Gloucester, and another oop north in Manchester.
We work with (mostly) consumer brands big and small, as well as interesting, talented and inspirational individuals. One of the core things that sets us apart is our work to develop creative campaigns that have an impact not only on awareness, but link-building, traffic and sales/sign-ups, too.
As well as my PR work, in March 2013, I co-founded blogger outreach service www.bloggabase.com. Brands including the likes of Disney, Ralph Lauren and Tesco signed up to reach more than 15,000 bloggers.
Aside from all that, I write and tweet mainly about good PR stunts and campaigns.
In January 2012, I launched PRexamples.com, a site dedicated to the best in up-to-date PR stunts and campaigns. More than 350 students and marketing professionals are signed up to contribute. It is now the UK's most popular independent PR blog.
I was listed in PR Week's 29 under 29 list in 2012 and shortlisted as 'the brightest young social media communicator' in the 2013 UK Social Media Communications Awards.
I'm also a former personal trainer and dad to a couple of little ones.
